The Skills scan offers an opportunity for an apprentice to undertake an initial self-assessment of their skills, knowledge and experience. The University/Employer can use this information to identify their current position and chart their progress and improvement.
Moreover, this assessment provides an opportunity to benchmark themselves against the apprenticeship standards at regular intervals and use at progress reviews and also at mentor/tutor meetings to help structure their study and skill development.
Apprentices are required to complete the skills for health 15 standards of the care certificate to meet the degree standard and be allowed to progress through the gateway to the End Point Assessment, which is included in this form and maps to the podiatry programme.
